Customer engagement is a global game, and the playbook keeps changing. As data regulations evolve, channels multiply, and customer expectations rise, brands need a platform that can keep up, wherever they operate. That's especially true in South Korea, where the regulatory landscape around data residency is moving fast and the stakes for getting it right are only growing.

Today, we're excited to announce the opening of our new data center in South Korea. This is our sixth regional data center globally, and it represents a major investment in the Korean market and the brands building their businesses there.

In South Korea, businesses in the financial services industry often have to grapple with local data storage requirements for regulated information. As eCommerce platforms and other innovative businesses consider themselves subject to FinTech laws, they are seeking out partners who offer local data storage.

For Braze, the decision was clear. We've seen the demand firsthand through our partners, our customers, and the conversations with our team in Seoul. The Korea Data Center means Korean companies can now store customer data locally while accessing the full Braze platform, with capabilities such as real-time personalization, cross-channel journey orchestration, BrazeAI, and the flexibility to build on top of a platform trusted by some of the world's most demanding brands. The same engine that processes over 4.5 trillion messages annually and powers engagement for more than 7.8 billion monthly active users worldwide will now host data locally in South Korea.

KakaoTalk, natively in Braze

Alongside the data center launch, we're also rolling out native support for KakaoTalk, South Korea's most popular messaging app with nearly 49 million active users. Marketers can now compose rich, personalized KakaoTalk messages directly in Braze using a no-code composer and seamlessly weave them into cross-channel journeys alongside email, push, SMS, and more. It's one more way we're making sure Korean brands can reach their customers where they actually are.

An investment in the region

Opening a data center isn't just a technical milestone. It's a signal that Braze is here, committed, and building for the long term. Combined with our Seoul office, our growing partner ecosystem in the region, and now native support for Korea's dominant messaging channel, Braze is positioned to help Korean brands forge stronger, more trusted relationships with their customers, no matter how the regulatory or competitive landscape shifts.

We're proud to be making this investment, and we can't wait to see what Korean brands build with Braze.
